Physical fitness: Run 1.6 km in 6 minutes 30 seconds. 10 push ups, 10 sit ups and 20 squats should also be completed within the allotted time.

Army has released the notification for the first batch of Agnipath. It will be more confusing for those who were prepared according to the existing recruitment method. What are the changes in the new way? What about things that stay the same?
∙ There is no change in the recruitment method
Recruitment through Agnipath scheme will be done through existing recruitment methods. In Army, recruitment rallies for physical and medical tests will be held first. Written test for passers. Air Force and Navy will conduct the exam first. After that physical and medical tests will be done.
Change in Terms of Service
∙ They will not have the same ranks as the current army personnel. Instead, the category 'Agniveer' will remain.
∙ Agniveer will also get risk allowance, uniform and traveling allowances similar to regular appointees. No Pension, Gratuity, Ex Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) and canteen facility. No ex-serviceman status.
∙ Salary initially Rs 4.76 lakh per annum. In the fourth year it will be Rs 6.92 lakh.
∙ 30% of monthly salary should be paid to Sevanidhi Fund. The central government will also pay an equal amount. Agniveer will get Rs 11.71 lakh after the completion of the service period plus interest. It has no income tax.
∙ Educational qualification to apply for Agnipath scheme – 10th pass with 45% marks. 33 % marks for each subject. C2 grade is required for those who have studied syllabus including CBSE. D grade in any subject.
∙ Passed 12th class with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English for technical subjects. 40% marks in each subject.
∙ Clerk, Store Keeper (Technical) – 60% in Class XII; 50 % in each subject.
∙ 8th and 10th pass is enough for 2 posts in tradesmen category. A minimum of 33% is required for each subject.
∙ 20 bonus marks in entrance test for children of servicemen, ex-servicemen and war martyrs.
∙ Bonus marks for NCC A, B, C certificate holders.
∙ Must have completed 4 years tenure. Relaxation can be granted only with the permission of the higher command.
∙ Annual leave 30 days.
∙ Those who join forces after 10th standard will get 12th pass certificate and skill development certificate on completion of service.
∙ Insurance of Rs 1 crore for those who die during service. The family will get full salary and Seva Nidhi amount for the rest of the service period.
∙ In case of dismemberment during service, assistance up to Rs.44 lakhs, salary for remaining period and service fund will be provided.
